Part Xplore Edgecam

Part Xplore Edgecam never let me down with their ability to keep improving and advancing their software. Now they added Part Xplore to the suite of software. I am going to be using this no end in my videos and am so excited I had to make a movie about it.

“What does it do that gets this old git so excited?” you ask.

Well what you can do is take any kind of model and interrogate it, you can’t like ask Naomi Campbell who does her hair extensions, it’s strictly Solid Models.

 But it does so much more:

You can directly display and evaluate 3D CAD files without the need for the original CAD application. Edgecam Part Xplore enables you to build virtual prototypes and you can import files from different formats such as Catia V5, Unigraphics, Parasolid, SolidWorks, IGES, STEP to name just a few.

It also opens files super fast as much as half the time to open the original CAD application.

2D and 3D measurement can be taken and you can section parts dynamically as well as creating bounding boxes giving the ability to work out the minimum stock requirement for manufacture.

Part Xplore can calculate volumes and even weights.

You can do accurate comparisons between 3d models and these models can easily be shared.

But what really got me in frenzy is the ability to make animations, so you can disassemble parts and stuff.

Make sure you learn to use this useful piece of software which I think really compliments the now comprehensive suite of programs that come with Edgecam. I am sure when you really start thinking about this you will see more and more uses for it. You start off being frightened of these things and a month down the line you wonder how you ever managed without it.
